A case of ischemic enteritis with intestinal stenosis diagnosed using single-balloon endoscopy

A 55-year-old man with atrial fibrillation and cerebral infarction presented one-month history of abdominal pain, watery diarrhea, hematochezia. Abdominal computed tomography showed wall thickening a limited area the jejunum. Although his symptoms improved as result fasting fluid therapy, pain recurred after resumption oral intake. Single-balloon endoscopy revealed multiple round ulcers in jejunum, endoscope could not pass through due to stenosis. Microscopic examination biopsy stricture lesion nonspecific inflammatory findings, without malignant or granulomatous findings. Judging from these clinical we diagnosed an ischemic small intestine performed partial resection laparoscopy.
